A year old article written at the beginning of last season. A season that the NFL posted record revenue. The Trump effect of the NFL is negligable at best. Ratings are down for multiple reasons but NFL games are still the top rated programs on TV. You should probably move on.

Ive said before and Ill say it again: the media shows up what they want us to see. They paint a picture of a cop pulling up and murdering a random black person. Then the FACTS are revealed in the court room, when the cop is acquitted of all charges, and then the media is like, oh, yeah. They're trying to make the game safer, but the onus is completely 100% on the defense to change the entire way they play the game and make split second decisions on a nanosecond's notice to react to whatever the offensive player is doing. Meanwhile the offensive player gets to do whatever they want and play as dangerous as they want even drop their head down and become a missile and it's the defender's fault if they get hit in the head

It goes beyond the protests, but I do think that's a significant part of it. I know a few people, including my dad, who canceled their NFL Sunday ticket over them and have stopped buying merchandise.

The thing that's making me lose interest is the local networks only airing shit games that I don't want to watch. The only options for viewing most games I'd want to see are to either find a low quality stream online or pay for the ridiculously overpriced Sunday Ticket.

They also keep adding more and more stupid rules each year that make the game less fun. For example, in the pre-season Eagles/Patriots game last week, one of the Patriot recievers intentionally ducked his head, making the Eagles' defense cause helmet to helmet contact. Eagkes got a 15 yard penalty over it and the announcers were even saying how much of a bullshit rule/call that was and sarcastically said "this year will be a lot of fun with rules like these."

I find it funny that the one thing millennials actually are killing they blame on other crap

I'm pretty sure the NFL airs games in the markets that are going to receive the highest ratings. For example, if you live in the Pennsylvania, you are going to see a lot of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh games, and then a lot of games for teams in those divisions. Then, they also have national games where there is a good matchup of 2 good teams that get shown in almost every market except for in markets where their local teams are playing.

In Austin, I see a lot of Cowboys, Texans, Eagles, Giants, and Redskins games.
