The NFL isnt a social media network. In todays society Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube are the town squares of speech and it operates like a monopoly. It isn't the same at all. 1) Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube are 3 separate entities. 2) You agree to the terms of service when you make an account on each of those 3 entitites 3) Alex Jones wasn't banned "simply because they don't like his political views." He was banned because of multiple offenses, the last straw being him calling for drag queens to be burned alive. you are entitled to freedom of speech two points 1. monopolies established as a result of corporate cronyism by state intervention is a proxy for state censorship especially seeing as these big platforms are in cahoots with the government itself - and other governments as well there should not be further government intervention in this trend - but conversely the market should be made dramatically freer from a regulatory and taxation standpoint to allow for competitors to bring more accountability to these players 2. the terms of service for these platforms are effectively a contract between the platforms and their contributors by arbitrarily banning unsavory parties from the platform without clarifying the specifics as to how that contract was breached by the parties in question is by its very nature a breach of contract a breach of contract, particularly which causes significant monetary damage, puts the platform in a position of liability - though the case for actionable litigation on these grounds is undermined by the very state cronyism that allows such platforms to assume unnatural monopolies to begin with conclusion. crony capitalism ruins everything for everyone, left and right, and though you may laugh because you're not affected, in good time the shoe will be on the other foot such was and is why i was as sympathetic to both sides of the proverbial aisle with respect to criticism of state-facilitated corporate excesses/abuses, monopolies, and the like --- ... So it is okay for a baker to refuse to bake a wedding cake for a gay wedding and the NFL forcing their players to stand during the anthem? I agree the nfl shouldn't be able to force players to stand if it's not a contractual term, but if it is a contractual term, they have the right to demand it as a condition of employment regardless, they should also be competing with other football leagues for viewership and sponsorships but they're deeply enmeshed with the corporate monopolies of big entertainment / big broadcasting which are enabled by the same state-interventionist forces i previously describe, which is perhaps at the root of this issue where there is not flexibility in the form of free economic competition and the spontaneous organization of the market it facilitates, politics emerges - if people don't like the nfl for allowing players to kneel, they should have access to view other football leagues; if they don't like the nfl for for forcing players to stand, they should have access to view other football leagues as well there are thousands of bakeries, and while i loathe the fact that some refuse to cater to gay weddings, there are abundant alternatives of comparable if not superior quality why sue for the right to give homophobes your money, when money (or the deprivation of such) seems to talk more than anything else --- ...
