I feel like trying a new look. How hard is it to dye your hair yourself? Or is it better to just pay someone to do it? but I hear that gets pricey. I'm kind of thinking about going white.

I just need to find a decent style haircut to go with it.

It's not hard to do, but if you don't know what you're doing you may end up with dye all over your scalp and forehead and ears, etc etc. Might look funny for a day or two

Maybe I'll get it done professionally for the first time then to see how it is done and get a better impression of the look.





a little Captain Shakespeare would be ok, but I think that might be too short. Not abig fan of having short hair. I prefer mid to long.

Yeah I'd go with a professional especially if you're going for a more natural look. I know you said white, not sure how tricky that is to pull off, but if you're going for some bright punky color it's a little easier to hide when you fuck it up.

I dye my hair light blonde every now and then, and I'd recommend professional unless you want to deal with maybe fucking up once or twice before really understanding how to do it.

Just be aware that the more drastic the change, the higher chance of you needing a second session or a longer trip is likely. Some stylists will bleach it first, then dyem

Go professional first. If you want to do it yourself later on in life, PM me. I have very close friends who do this sort of thing often. Both are female, so it may be a little different. But I think they can at least give me some tips to pass on to you. But I would definitely say to get it professionally done for at least the first time. And probably a couple times after that...

Yeah, bleaching is super damaging to hair so it's not likely they'd do that. You might be able to get one to do it but I don't think so.

no. bleaching and dying blonde are two different things. they have semi permanent dyes they would use. if you have brown or black hair and they start to step dye it blonde it'll start out looking lighter brown and then brassy until it finally gets blonde.

bleaching will turn it STRAIGHT blonde right away because it's bleach.

I wouldn't say it's difficult if you just want one couler. If however you want streaks or something more complicated then it can be difficult. I tried putting streaks of blonde in my hair back at school and it went wrong so I just bleached the whole thing a nice Strawberry blonde.

As I said, I have had my hair "bleached" (their words) and it was 4 runs over a week to get platinum blonde.

For some reason, I want to say I remember a couple places that called it bleaching you hair, but I'm not sure if they were just calling it that when they were dyeing it to get it lighter, or if they were actually bleaching it.
