throttle Yakuza game in the Dragon Engine is impressive. Kiwami 2 is another stellar entry in a series thats full of absolute barn burners.

I say something like this at the end of every Yakuza review I write, but I want to reiterate it. If youre tired of the same experience with grimdark AAA series year after year, then its time to look to games like Yakuza Kiwami 2. Instead of playing as rebellious girl with a dirty face whose dad died or beefy moody soldier who has become the enemy he hates, you can go hit the batting cages with Kiryu and hang out in an accessible and enthralling slice of 2006 Japan.

If you havent played Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami, you can definitely still enjoy Kiwami 2, but instead of worrying about that, just go get those games too, and get ready to have your mind blown by how consistently good a video game series can be.

I suspected combining 2's story with the gameplay of the more recent entries in the series would produce a game of the year candidate and now here we are

I'm super crazy pumped for this... but I actually just cancelled my pre-order!

I've got more than enough games to play atm especially with DQ11 about to drop, and with how things are going it's basically guaranteed this is going to come out on PC at some point in 2019. Rather than inevitably double dip, I'm just going to wait and enjoy the best possible version of this down the road.~

Seriously though Y2's amazing story put together with Y6's seamless world sounds like a dream come true.

A bump to their resolution and frame rate is really all Y3-5 need anyhow. Sure they seem dated next to the likes of Y0 and 6, but they're still darn solid games.

Yakuza 3 is the best Yakuza game, so it'll still be great.

But I'm just afraid without the new engine it won't get the respect it deserves.
