FTR its not homophobic to say you arent attracted to men, because they all generally have something in common.

But its racist to say you dont find white people attractive because they dont have one single thing in common with every whites person ....

Wait, that doesn't follow at all.

Why does the universality of a distinction matter? Wouldn't it be just as bad regardless of whether the criteria is actually universal or not?

Not really because then its actually just preference.

Like if I dont like thin lips and all white people had then lips then my issues isnt inherently with white people its with thin lips

How ever white people or any groups of people dont all have something in common, so to say you dont like an entire race has more to do with the the race of people itself then any feature they have.

But if there isn't some kind of shared (or at least common) trait, then how are people identifying races to begin with?

Across an entire race of people ?
No

A group of traits that are commonely held sure

Not to mention there are more and more mixed race people. Does the no blacks apply to someone who is half black like me? 1/4 black? Are we applying the 1/8 rule to dating?

Again, repeating this for the stubborn people. The argument isn't if the preference is racist. The question is if putting that in your profile is racist.

Say one in a million chance a person of a race you're not typically into messages you and you actually do find them attractive as an exception. Would you still not respond out of "principle"? Would you still prefer to keep something in your profile to scare them off from ever talking to you? Why do you want to avoid the possibility to ever finding a certain race attractive?

I don't see what that changes with what I said.

Unless you're lying on your profile, you trade your privacy/preferences for increased exposure and speed.

That would mean they prefer dating races that stereotypically don't have those features and also open to black people that don't have stereotypically black features, and is a completely different stance than "no blacks ever"

Actually, this is one of the better ways I've heard phrasing the distinction.

I definitely think it's still racist af to say, "I prefer dating white people" though. Or any other skin color. It's fucking weird to fetishize skin color, imo.

Still not comprehending I see. The preference itself is not in question here. It's thinking "no blacks" is pertinent information about you that comes off as racist. It also comes off as being completely unaware of mixed people.

Say someone is like 12% black, but does not look remotely black. Seeing "no blacks" in a profile would just put up a roadblock between ever coming together, even if both people have mutual interest in each other's appearance/personality. The better strategy is just to put things you are looking for in the profile, and only respond to people you're into. And if finding out someone that looks attractive has black heritage is suddenly a turn off... that most definitely is racist.

"No blacks" is like putting "no ugly people" in a profile. A dumb, vague, pointless statement that would only serve to drive off more than just the intended "undesirables"

Well if you need that explained to you, you're just too far gone anyways.

Or

So you'll just keep saying it isn't a satisfactory explanation no matter how many times its been effectively and objectively proven.

Or even

These are the kinds of nonsensical replies you can expect on CE. Its ridiculous how people on CE despite having the cloak of anonymity will still refuse to ever admit they're wrong no matter how much its been proven. I tried having a discussion with a guy just like that in another topic, its crazy how they will keep up with that MO even when its exposed and spelled out right in front of their face.

Racist. You are literally assuming that no member of a specific race could ever be attractive to you. Even if you've never met a black person you found attractive, assuming that the people you met represent the entire race is pure racism. Because even if you aren't attracted to black people you aren't going to put that in your profile, but also I don't think that means there are 0 black people you're attracted to, it just means you really only find a small % of black people attractive.
