New bosses, boss rushes and remixed/harder versions of EVERY boss in the game.

As someone who absolutely adores the combat in this game I can't even begin to say how happy this makes me. That's to say nothing of the game being generally outstanding aside from all of this. If you haven't played it yet, you're doing yourself a disservice!

Yeah this is the last of the free updates! Just went live in the last couple of days I believe so it probably snuck in without you even realizing it, haha. That's something I also like, the new stuff is all so well woven in to the game that you wouldn't even know it was dlc if you tripped across it randomly on your first run.

Apparently there are two new endings if you are badass enough to beat the challenge. Haven't played since getting the "good" ending so I may go at it again to take on the Grimm Troupe, the new bosses, PoP, then finally GaG Challenge

Hornet dlc is happening but it's going to be paid. We don't know how much, though. I'm fine with it since apparently that one's going to actually be a full new campaign.

I don't think I liked Hollow Knight as much as some people, but it's not because of the boss fights -- cool that they've added more in.

I'll be interested in an eventual sequel if they make a smaller world or maybe double the amount of warp points. Game demanded way too much patience, as neat as it often was.

Godmaster is cool, but so far it's been significantly more difficult than I anticipated. I'm stuck on the Third Pantheon. I'd like to at least get to that 112%, but some of the extra challenges might simply be too much for me.

This is one of the things that really blew me away when i first heard about it.

I've been wanting to get HK, but it's the kind of game that I'd want to play on the go. So I'm waiting until it's a good time to get a switch and then it'll be my first purchase.

Managed to beat NK Grimm. He was nuts at first but gradually became more manageable aside from bad RNG on his barrage. Gotta figure out where the other hidden bosses are then I think the new DLC unlocks? Not sure

I'm a bit bothered that they're nerfing some of the bosses. Even though I'm struggling, I'm not a fan of the idea of nerfing bosses ever. The exception is only if the boss battle is truly too extreme or broken. Uumuu is fine as it is though. I think too many people were caught off guard since in the base game it's one of the easiest bosses.

Holy shit the final boss of the fourth pantheon is brutal.

They made a boss rush mode to be as much fun as a boss rush mode can be, so kudos to them.
The ability to fight each boss alone and practice it forever, getting better and trying to beat it on No Hit mode is great and addicting.
Also thanks to Scare I also just learned about Eternal Ordeal (how the fuck was I supposed to find it alone)
first try was 38, so only 20 more? sounds plausible

Problem is with this DLC (and actually, most of Hollow Knight DLCs) is that it's too hard
And yes I am aware some elite players will argue that "hard" is not a problem, but to the majority of the players it is

I started falling behind ever since the Hidden Dreams update, where I had to beat White Defender and Grey Prince Zote 10 times, each time they are getting tougher, it's insane
Then I was unable to beat Nightmare King Grimm, then they made Mantis Lord harder and it's a good thing since he was kind of a joke, but they made him kind of insane too, so..
And Hive Knight is also one of the harder bosses considering how I had tough time with him even when I had full gear (finished the game completely before he was released)
And now..this
Beating every boss without getting hit, beating boss rushes with every binding, Pantheon of Hallownest
It's a completionist nightmare
I want to beat it all but I have to admit I am not good enough
Now people complain about Path of Pain but honestly I think that was the perfect "hard" as it WAS hard, but totally manageable
All bindings, (or actually no binding at all..) Pantheon of Hallownest? no

You only need to beat each of these guys once for completion!

Tbh the only REALLY balls tough thing before this update that's actually required for completion is Nightmare Grimm. I'd agree that later versions of Zote and White Defender are way too ridiculous along but they're totally optional even for achievement completion.

Edit: I was going to put Path of Pain on the "legit hard" tier but that isn't required for completion either! Technically even for Grimm you can skip the fight and get the percentage but he's the coolest boss in the game so I'd be sad if people did!

The guy whose lets play I watched of it he could not defeat NKG and then he saw the new dlc and Nope'd out. But he came back just to show how to get to Eternal Ordeal and a couple attempts. It looks fun but man it all looks so tough

Im not a great Metroidvania type person, and wasnt fond of Hollowknight when I saw the speedrun at GDQ, but his playthrough really let some of the charm come out and it seems like a really fun game

Also what was interesting about his playthrough is he basically went to deepnest first and didnt know it was so hard or how to get out so he basically ran most of it through to basically start the game. Really cool experience

Nah I totally get where you're coming from~

Even though I beat NKG in just about an hour I haven't gotten the gold Zote statue. Instantly losing from even one of his silly attacks is rough. X_X

Guess I better brace myself for all of these Radiant bosses!

Oh hell no fuck doing that no damage. Just got the gold marker / statue after killing like 60+ or whatever the number was

No idea how the fuck I am going to do Hallownest Pantheon. It was going smoothly in the first leg of it then EXTREME SISTERS kicked the shit out of me and I don't know if there would have been a rest bench after that.

Also barely got through Pure Vessel in the last Pantheon so...yeah. This is nuts if I have to go through every single one of the bosses (now buffed / with extra stuff apparently) without dying once with no checkpoints.

By the way the fight with the two Oblobbles was the most fucking annoying RNG fight ever fuck them to hell
It wasn't hard, it was just pure RNG
I mean when I fight something like NKG and he kicks my ass because he is too fast I am willing to admit I need to git gud
But in this fuck? fuck them that was just random
Sometimes they corner you and you don't have anything to do
Sometimes they shot in a set interval and sometimes it's totally random
Sometimes you can stand for 40 seconds and they won't hit you and sometimes when you jump to dodge a hit their next attack catch you mid-air
Sometimes they corner you in the middle
Sometimes the shield protects you
Sometimes they move together like idiots and let you attack both of them at the same time easily
Sometimes not

Fuck this fight
