They are coming out with another next year, IIRC. And that one should be a main game...

Where are you at? We're not on same wavelength about this pokemon situation.

I'm not intentionally skipping this gen 'cuz "oh herp it bad", but because I'm late to it and like starting in fresh. Indeed, the "cheap combo" for online only refreshed my interest in Pokemon because of how clever the playerbase can be

pokemon is watered down diarrhea at this point
it literally tells you in the moves list what the other pokemon is weak too
you don't even have to do something as basic as pay attention
and they give you a exp share withen the first hour of the game
there's no rotations of pokemon or anything, you can litterally just walk through an area without paying any attention at all and not just one pokemon but your ENTIRE party will get experience, most of the levels take up one room. There's no exploration really it's just one area to the next and some back peddeling once in awhile

Main game is easy but competitive is complicated

I started back at RSE, and I'm not alone in wishing that the main games had not gotten so easy.

Idk about you guys, but I find RPGs in general to be inherently easy... and I don't just mean a lack of manual inputs. I think there have been only like maybe two or three actually hard RPGs (like Nocturne)

US/UM are terrible. Just play ORAS or X&Y

We could do -- and have done, actually -- a whole separate topic about first-person dungeon crawlers from back in the day (e.g. Might & Magic and Wizardry, among many others). "Easy" RPGs are a relatively recent innovation.
