The more I think about humans and the universe the less I believe in the concept of gender. It's obviously a man made construct but I feel it holds no stock. I don't know what male or female or man or woman is supposed to mean, anymore. Feel like there is a spectrum.

I don't know about that, I'm really proud of the progress we've made as a society in America over the last few decades, I remember in the early 90s as a kid and it seemed like hating gay people was almost the norm. Now we've made such great strides with gay marriage to tackling transgender issues, but a byproduct of being so open and tolerant is crackpots trying to push their make believe stuff through as well. They're not hurting anyone though so it's all in good fun.

I don't understand what non-binary is supposed to mean. Why would having an eccentric or unorthodox personality require a new gender class? If a guy is into the goth scene and paints his nails, should he be called goth-male? Why not just keep him in the male gender? I don't see the point in creating another class.

Sex is tied to the sex chromosome pair and (in most cases) sexual organs that one is born with.

This is a very commonly accepted distinction.

Playing devil's advocate here to agree with TC a little. It feels like nowadays, any sort of personality trait or quick you have is labelled a gender now. If you happen to go against the most extreme of gender stereotypes even a little, you must be so "out there" that what you have is a new gender. Like, it can't just be a thing about you or your personality, it's a gender. You need to label yourself and others like that, apparently. I don't know why the younger adults are doing this.
