Current Events > Does your keyboard have a volume knob?

My cat spilled water on my keyboard which fried a few of my keys, so now I'm on the market for a new one. This one is kind of nasty anyway, I need to get a keyboard cover or something.

Anyway, my current keyboard has a volume dial at the top along with play/pause/next/back functions. And basically no other keyboard on Amazon has that, at least not in the top few pages.

How do you guys even live without a volume knob? What are the alternatives? Physically turning the speaker knobs like a plebeian?

My Logitech G510 had a knob. It got kind of finnicky towards the end of the keyboard's life which was disappointing but it was so useful.

I bought my current keyboard specifically because it has volume control buttons but the buttons are less effective than the knob :(

I haven't had a knob/dial since around, 2003? Maybe even 04 and that was a keyboard from 2000. Seen plenty of button press ones, even current one has it and it'll go up/down by 2%. I really love its placement on this keyboard because it's easy to accidentally do if you get too frisky.

Haha I don't know what I was thinking with that ashita bypass. I remember making some crazy Fresh Prince parody about shitting just to use the ashita bypass one night then going to sleep. Then after school the next day, I came home to find out not only did my alt get banned, I got usermap axed lol. I was so shocked when I clearly should have known better. RIP Legato and Vash space account haha.

Well the first one just has buttons. If you're trying to go that route then I recommend this Corsair - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0716Q4932/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It feels pretty good. Though the buttons are upside down (the symbols are below the numbers for instance).

Hahaha yeah. I remember when the Swedish word for bird was auto-suspension, and I wanted to "test" it, posted it and yeah, automatic suspension and warning.

map the multimedia keys with autohotkey:
for instance you could create a script that says
^!PgUp::Volume_Up
^!PgDn::Volume_Down
this would result in control (^) alt (!) + PgUp sending the multimedia volume_up event
