That's crazy to me. I work 40 hours then get $140 taken out of that. That's a whole work shift taken from my check at my rate lol. So I'm basically working an extra day for taxes and only seeing 32 hours of my gross check.

I never paid attention so closely until recently.

I make $18 a hour. I bring in about $663 roughly every week in gross then get to keep $536. Monthly I'm still doing really good since my total bills are about $1,100 a month. I'm really just annoyed how much gets taken out of each check. I can't imagine what it'd be like making $60k a year just to get raped more.

I don't mind paying taxes. What I do mind is that my taxes largely go towards the military, corporate welfare (including subsidized wages as they're allowed to pay people so little that they qualify for welfare), ridiculous uncontrolled health industry costs, and other grossly mismanaged spending.

The problem is that republicans claim to have a monopoly on "fiscal conservatism" and yet all it really means is tax cuts for the rich while still increasing spending in bullshit (moreso than even democrats).

maybe you should be less concerned about how much of your money is being 'taken' from you and more concerned about what your taxes are used for. complain to your local leaders about potholes in roads and the shit education/healthcare your fellow humans receive.

In theory it's the kind of thing you might grumble about but you accept because people need education and infrastructure needs maintenance.

But in reality, it's the kind of thing you might grumble about but you accept because you're clueless about how much of it goes to misappropriation, paying perfectly capable people to watch TV and eat little debbie cakes, and repaving highways that have nothing wrong with them while the next highway over falls to pieces.

I have no problem whatsoever with the concept of taxes but the programs they fund are failing miserably at doing what should be a good thing.

Oh and corporate bailouts. How could I forget that? We should have let GM go out of business.

I would take this to heart if an Republican actually did something about it....but they dont.

And yeah it does suck. What sucks even more is paying for Social and Medicare when we probably wont get to use it.
