nicklebro 08/30/18 3:32:18 PM #1:	Naturally attracted to working for the church? This question popped up in another topic and I thought it deserved its own topic. People weren't flat out saying it, but they were heavily implying that the rules of being a priest (no sex, no wives/girlfriends, I hear even no masturbating) made men turn towards pedophilia. I think that makes no sense at all. I mean having sex with little boys is also against the rules of being a priest, its not like its some loophole they found. So IMO I think pedophiles are naturally attracted to working for the church, plus I bet its a recurring cycle where an abused child becomes a priest and abuses children themselves. If a priest is going to break the rules and have sex, obviously it'd be with a woman unless they were already a pedophile. I think pedo priests are still a minority and most priests don't do it. but.....the reason there are so many pedo priests is because for all of history, people that had "problems" with their sexuality and habits would often get forced into the priesthood. especially back before we had more understanding of things like being gay for example. a family would jsut call them mentally disturbed and then put them into the church to be both "helped" and quietly hidden away so the family gets no shame. so now we hae a church where like 10% of the population is a bunch of weirdos with problems hiding out in the fold <cite>Zikten posted [p:907832089] in Do the rul... I think people could flock to priesthood knowing theres a good chance they can get away with their deeds, but I also think some priests resorted to this out of opportunity. Darkman was deadly accurate when he said some have high authority and nobody can stop them. Anyway, I think humans are sexual creatures and because children are easier to manipulate some introduced themselves to pedophilia like that. Its all very disturbing.
