Board 8 > DRv3, a playthrough, and closing thoughts [SPOILERS FOR 3, V3-6]

so uh. shoot. definitely much better than 3. Can definitely understand people who put it at the top of their rankings, although I do worry that the writing can be...dated? Even if there's an in-universe excuse for that, I still had to stop playing when Monophanie or whoever said "check yourself before you wreck yourself"

I've always treated Danganronpa as something of a soap opera; I've had fun reading them, even if their construction's flawed. A lot of the problems I had with characters stood out more here just because I feel the shticks were too oft-repeated, as if we had to be reminded that yes, these are the Ultimates in question. I heard you say it's magic ok pls no more

I think the cast is decent enough.

On the flipside, I think the worst character in the entire game is pretty obvious...and surprisingly it isn't Monokid. I don't personally like him, but I think he's better written than at least a fourth of the main cast.

Well, thank heavens I went in blind. These cases definitely had more "bite" to their mystery, so even if the who is given, the how is usually entertaining enough to excuse it. The actual roles were pretty well filled even if, as I said, the characters themselves could be repetitive

I started a playthrough at one point, but I could not post fast enough to save it (that is my bad!) I will just go dump the text once I've finished translating it from Y-code to English. I understand that I can be difficult to read, so combing through and editing through my work is a top priority.

So, yeah. I'm gonna go finish what I started. And maybe post rankings and stuff when that's through with
