Like if youre looking at the selection of fruit and somebody is behind you, breathing, staring over you at the stuff. I feel rushed when people do this. Like, just fuck off for thirty seconds and let me shop.

Am I justified in being irritated by this? I feel like the polite thing to do is to stand patiently to the side and not rush the other customers. Selfish assholes.

This. Grab wtf you need and move on. I hate waiting behind a grandma like you when it's gonna take me all of 2 seconds to grab that item I see and want.

Not everybody knows exactly what they want, every time. I used the fruit aisles as an example because I typically check my fruit before buying it. There are occasionally new things, like cereal or snacks, and I feel like I have a right to stop and look at stuff.

Do you guys seriously just grab whichever thing of strawberries is on top? You dont check to make sure you dont get one thats smashed? Because nine times out of ten, then person sweating me takes his/her time browsing.

Because its polite to wait your turn.

Hurry up! I need to get in there!

Thats selfish because the other person assumes that he or she should be allowed to hurry me out of the way to shop.

I feel like every time I go to the store, theres somebody exactly where I need to be. I understand. But since I have manners and was not brought up to think that my time is more important than others, I pretend to be interested in something else until they move.

Its the same people who walk three abreast and act put out when I dont give them the entire lane. Traffic stats right and customers should trespect one another. Nobody should ever walk in groups or shoulder to shoulder. Nobody should walk alongside his cart and pull it. Some people are just so self centered that they never consider the fact that other human beings exist.

If you can't decide immediately on a product to purchase, stand back a bit and try not to block the shelf/aisle as you scan. If you need to read the nutrition facts, you can also grab it and stand aside while you read.

Admittedly produce is a bit harder since you probably want to inspect it. But it shouldn't take more than about 15 seconds per item...if that.

I can't stand people who block the display taking an age to decide what they want. If it's so hard for you to decide which apple you want, get your carer to do it for you.

I know, right? Many of the people here dont sound like very good shoppers. People act like its a marketplace in a third world country. Why is it okay to rush somebody else if youre going to take your time?

Yes, those people are rude.

I just shop for something else until the person is done. No need to crowd them. You have to inspect fruit. Pick the right stuff. No bruises, dents, etc.

Even boxed items deserve the once over. No need to breathe down someone's neck. Let them take their time, within reason. And people should give you the same courtesy.

I kinda agree with TC here

If there's someone in front of me, I'll either look forward other things nearby or just wait a little bit behind the person

I wanted to get chips the other day. There are always new brands out, and Lays had recently put out a bunch of new flavors. I was pressed up against the aisle because there were already too many people. Then some lady inches up and stared staring past me, like, hurry up and move so that I can get what I want.

Rude!
