Yep. This. Spyders are usually heavier than their coup counterparts to make up for the lack of the roof. This slows them down, as well as basic aerodynamics.

False: Ferrari's racecars had no roofs. Ferrari mastered structural rigidity before they built coupes, therefore the roofless cars didn't weight much more than a coupe.

And it wouldn't go slower due to lowered structural rigidity (lowered being false anyways, as explained above), but they would have a lower top speed due to aerodynamics.
