In modern day Trump America, with outrage blowing up at every corner, we really need a good wholesome comedy to keep us stable and remind us what the real America could be. I'm really curious as to how Hank would handle Donald Trumps handshake

Dammit you're right about Lucky, he was actually a strong main character considering he was introduced so late in the series. And Luanne had some of the biggest series changing events involve her, often directly.

Nah, don't use Hank as a political tool. He's someone that decent people and shitty Trump voters can both agree is a great guy. Don't fuck that up.

I'd say people literally blowing up would be more of a problem than people being outraged, but whose to say.

I also don't know if it would count as 'wholesome'.

That being said, you are right about everything else. I think Hank would hate Trump due to the fact that he's from New York, he has a foul mouth and he regularly says very controversial things.

I imagine Hank's reaction would be one of disappointment but still respect the office if nothing else before just going about his life.

Just like Hank!

That was great, but his absolute horror and the fact that the ending to that episode had them completely disregard it by making him 'born again in Texas' means his view of New York probably didn't change much.

I think I should say, though, I'm not saying that Trump is a good or bad person, just that Hank is very old fashion and has a very low opinion of controversial figures and northerners.

He was a great b-plot character, and his support in a-plot roles was consistently able to bring up that sense of disgust in Hank that the writers had been lacking in the prior season and half.

Honestly, the show would be fine without Luanne and Lucky. Luanne had about one episode a season of focus, and 75% of them were terrible or just plain weird (remember the one where she somehow gets the involved with the owner of a huge pig farm who starts grooming her to be the mascot of his company so she can marry a guy dressed as the Bavarian on their logo and he can pretend to be the pig they are taking care of, only for Luanne to make a death defying escape from the kill floor and Peggy to accidentally kill him and turn him into bacon?).

I don't care peggy
America
also manger babies (luanne heavy episode) was the worst episode and only saving grace is he was god
also was koth ever really that political? it always felt like all the other shows fox had at the time were much more so. sure there was one or two presidents on there, but aside from that they don't make any political commentary on the presidents themselves

the closest they ever came to a political opinion was when Hank said that George Bush has a weak handshake

anyway, I think I would prefer a sequel to a reboot. I want to see how people are doing now .

I mean the whole point of the handshake episode is to lampoon the shallow nature of middle american political attitudes wasn't it?

I think that was the same episode where Luanne wanted to vote for a 3rd party communist because he was handsome so that makes sense.
