I'm glad they told their "fans" off. Fan feedback is becoming so detrimental. Vocal minorities shouting their terrible opinions and forcing developers to explain every design decision just makes things worse. Imagine these developers who are just working in their dream job, but its just turned into being shat on by whiny entitled gamers. Good luck trying to get new people into the industry in the future. Then you'll have to make your copy paste WW2 game by yourself.

They Ghostbustere'd themselves. Many people had a variety of legit complaints or concerns, a small group have non legit mysoginistic complaints. Instead of addressing legit complaints, and hyping up the posative points of ther product, they just file all criticism as sexism.

I wouldn't call it that. Firstly, in hindsight, it's insanely likely that the reason they made it all-female was BECAUSE it would stir up so much shit. It's free advertising and, so long as they made the movie good, they could turn it to showcase them as a beacon of modern values and forwards thinking to earn a ton of good will for the sequel. Too bad they didn't have that.

I'd also say that it IS a concern as it IS dis-respectful. Not because the XX chromosome somehow can't be a ghostbuster but, instead, because it's a cheap marketing plot and political statement being done to intentionally **** off fans of the original who, if they were going to get a new Ghostbusters, wanted it to focus on being a good movie as opposed to a cheap marketing ploy/cash grab.

As for BFV, it's still unknown as to if the gameplay is going to be good; but it's clear that the PR attempt backfired massively on them and that's gonna hurt sales.

Historical inaccuracy?
In a videogame?!

Slap my nips and call me crazy, but I think this isn't new.

I think there's a difference between having some inaccuracy for the sake of gameplay, but they're just totally disrespecting an important period of history. There were not many racial minorities or women on the front-lines, and there were especially not anybody with bionic limbs. That and all the PR bullshit too.

Failed Reading Comprehension did we? I never said there weren't female soldiers/minorities period, only there were not many. Most African-Americans were segregated and didn't do as much front-line fighting and instead were assigned menial tasks.

And do you really think the military would let you serve in combat with a prosthetic like that?

While she wasn't necessarily on the front lines, Virginia Hall is quite well known for her work for SOE and OSS during World War II. She had a prosthetic leg ("affectionately" code-named "Cuthbert").

And regarding the "menial tasks" comment. the 93rd Infantry was mostly relegated to construction and repairs, but the 92nd saw combat in the Italian theater. In fact, in the Italian theater, the 92nd Infantry Division was attached to the 473rd RCT (a white unit) and the 442nd Infantry Regiment (composed of Japanese-Americans).

And the question isn't whether there were many female soldiers/minorities, the question is whether there were any, which would make their inclusion plausible in a fictional WWII setting.

If you don't know shit about WWII history, maybe you should stop arguing about what would be "realistic" in a fictionalized WWII setting.

Side note: If anyone's complaints are in any way related to the appearance one can assume in multiplayer, then Deathmatch makes any complaints of realism fucking stupid.

Lol! Brutal. I thought it was % downloaded on the beta. I'm so glad EA is taking this hit. Fuck EA. I've been saying that for YEARS. I'm surprised it took this long for the community to wake up.
