It's a pretty wild ride through most of this getting all the endings to finally wind up with this platinum.

Extra is just not a really good game. It's a pretty basic dating sim and everyone is pretty much a walking stereotype of some anime cliche. Took me a good few weeks just to get through the first route and then another five to push through the rest despite skipping all the already-seen dialogue.

Unlimited however is much different and sacrifices most of the dating sim elements to actually craft a much better story and is more interesting overall. Most of the routes are exactly the same with only minor differences, but that's the trade off, I guess. I actually enjoyed this half of the story compared to Extra and went through the whole thing in a few days.

Obviously Unlimited left me with a lot more questions about what is going on, so I assume these will be answered once I read Alternative. Going to have to free some space on my Vita for this as it's well over 3 GB for Alternative while Muv-Luv is around 2.2 total. Though I kind of want to get my 100th platinum beforehand because I feel like when I start Alternative I'm not going to stop until the end. I'll figure it out within the next few days, but now I'm going to get back to farming in Fate grand/order bye

Yeah Extra sucks. I did like the Sumika scenes at least because she is the best, but it wasn't near enough to carry the whole thing. Especially with that awful lacrosse match arc oh god why

Glad someone else besides me kind of liked Unlimited though.

Also Alternative is super long for the record. I can't tell if this was actually your intent or not but I'm pretty sure marathon-ing it in one sitting would be pretty much impossible.

I thought Extra was ok.

Not great or anything, but it was pretty much felt like the only time most of the side girls got any screentime/character development. With unlimited only a handful of characters got all the focus and none of the choices really mattered even in just having alternate dialog for scenes instead of branches because it was all interchangeable, and it got just kind of worse about that particular thing in alternative honestly since they all already got their arc in unlimited.

it kind of felt like with extra age was trying to parody their own stuff with the main (particularly since it's set at the same high school the Kimi nozo eien or however it's spelled heroines went to, reuses a lot of the same locations like the hill and the aquarium, has cameos of several of the characters, and Sumika/Meiya have vaguely similar designs as Haruka/Mitsuki. though at least part of that might be because of l i t t l e m o n e y), but it's not really weird or outlandish enough for a lot of people to recognize as a parody (like say Hatoful boyfriend, but a lot of people don't seem to get it anyway and just copy the idea) and western readers wouldn't notice or care about the older games. plus then after all that it was kind indecisive and wishy washy about being a parody, since they tried to spin it as drama at the end with the things can't remain the same forever, and then the side routes were also a little more serious.
