Some of them are right, some of them are reaching. Monica's weight and Chandler's dad, for instance, probably aren't something you could get away with today. Stuff like Ross not liking a male nanny or his son playing with girl's toys would be fine since, IIRC, the characters kind of ridicule Ross for both of those.

2. Depends on the character. I don't think you'd get a story where he hates his kid playing with toys for girls and the moral being "And he was right!"

3. Homophobia would probably have to be toned down. But for people bemoaning this, do you actually think "no homo" is quality humor?

4. There are plenty of shows that aren't racially diverse today. Doesn't mean there shouldn't be more diversity, but it could easily get away with it.

5. This is more a complaint about quality of the show and little to do with whether it would fly today.

6. I think fat jokes still happen on TV today.

7. Even when Friends was airing , Joey was seen as a womanizer. There might be specific instances that wouldn't be couth, but I think it'd still be present.

9. There are still sexist characters on show, and like @pegusus123456 said, he wasn't in the right in that episode when it aired.

10. "Men are clueless about anatomy" is still doable today.

Just a few days ago I saw the episode where Ross eats kiwi (Monicas pie) and goes into anaphylaxis. The laugh track was obnoxious. Food allergies are no joke, and I dont think this would pass muster today. A Disney Channel episode (Jessie, maybe?) was pulled from circulation because in one scene a child threw a food allergen at another child, on purpose. The kiwi was not on purpose, but the whole incident wasnt played like a joke.

Only reason I posted this was cuz my fiance and myself have been watching all of the seasons of friends the last couple months and I read somewhere a lot of young adults and teens today have problems with the show for similar reasons to the article. I think there was generally less offense to things back then. Honestly the only jokes I would say I didnt find humor in where the suicide jokes and even then Its not that Im offended I just kinda cringe at it is all.
