40 y/o Nate Richerts, the former actor of the popular teen show Sabrina The Teenage Witch has revealed he now works as a JANITOR to help pay bills and is in support of Cosby Show actor Geoffrey Owens.

He took to twitter to explain he works now as a janitor by cleaning up piles of corridor vomit and also does maintenance and carpentry on the side to highlight the difficulty of actors to get regular work.

The musician who played Harvey Kinkle between 1996 to 2003 is one of several low profile actors who spoken out against Fox News who humilaated Geoffrey because he's working as a cashier at Trader Joe's in Clifton, New Jersey

He's been in the acting business since he was 8 years old who said "i'm extremely lucky to have had any success at all, let alone solid workin film and tv for x years. I'm currently a maintenance man, a janitor, a carpenter and do whatever random jobs i can get to pay the bills"

He's not ashamed of what he does to work regular jobs in addition as a performer to sustain his passion as he does improv and songwriting to maintain his sanity as actors rarely have job security or consistent work, quality healthcare and reasonable retirement.

He doesn't act for fame and views but that he does it to get by and not everyone in hollywood are getting millions.

Is fame is a "necessary evil" because it comes with the loss of "anonymity" and is uplifting when it brings joy but hard when people decide to be mean.

He said Owens is an "actor of very high caliber" and Richert says he's just an OLD GUY in Minnesota now.

Since Sabrina ended, he's had few roles including The Sure Hand of God and a short film.

He made regular appearances on the hit ABC and the WB show for 7 years..

Owens was pictured working at Trader Joes by a customer and gave the pictures to Dailymail to publish where Fox News picked it up and SHAMED the actor who said has "fallen from grace".

Owens went on Good Morning America who says every job is worthwhile and valuable and no one should feel sorry for him as he's not had an acting job that lasted more than 10 weeks as he's had to work other jobs related to entertainment just to get by. He wanted a job with flexibility if auditions or other opportunities opened up.

He said no one should feel sorry for him and he's had a grat life and has worked at the supermarket for 15 months before QUITTING in light of the recent publicity surrounding his day job...Tyler Perry has now OFFERED him a job!!

Have you ever looked down on someone because of their job?

In the show, I think I liked him better with short hair. I think that was both early in the show and late in the show. I think he had that hair in the pic around the middle seasons. Between the early and late seasons, I liked the later season Harvey hair better...

He made a poll a while ago about the Sabrina cast now. It had that Nate picture. It might have also said something about him being a janitor, but I can't remember...

Not as such. I worked at McDonalds for a very short period but this one jumped up little shit acted like he was above everyone and he wasn't even a supervisor. Needless to say I in turn looked down on him as he was just a fast food worked like I was so had no grounds to act that way.

Still I've done run of the mill minimum wage jobs and would do again. A job is a job at the end of the day and providing it pays the bills that's all that really matters. Hell even some minimum wage jobs are enjoyable too.

1) The claim about what Fox News did is silly and deceptive, which makes the outrage stupid.

2) Given that Fox News probably wouldn't like him either, outing himself would be doing them a favor if they were doing this maliciously.

3) While obviously not all actors can make it or stay in the business forever, it's still pretty depressing to see a name you recognize stuck working in a muggle profession.

4) His "support" is most likely nothing more than trying to get attention for himself to get acting jobs.

Absolutely. Most people in low-end retail and food service jobs could be doing a lot more with their lives. And I'm certainly not going to view a secretary in the same light as a CEO (although it's worth noting that there are family-owned businesses where the owner's wife works as the office manager or secretary and I don't really see them as just an office manager or secretary). The fact that I worked a *lot* of low-end jobs between high school and college is part of the reason why I tend to be more critical of people in those positions.

While the fact that he's employed is nice and all, arguments that "well, at least he's not robbing banks" are pretty stupid. By that same token, you could say, "Well, at least he's just a pickpocket and not a rapist!" You're kind of setting a really low bar.

As for low-end jobs, the issue is that people almost always *could* be doing better. Prior to getting his big break, Harrison Ford worked as a carpenter, which is a skilled trade. Nick Offerman has a successful acting career but he *also* has a woodworking business he could fall back on if he ever decided to quit (although it's possible he has enough money to retire on, Offerman isn't the kind of guy who would just retire).

Honestly, Chris Rock did a whole bit about this where he talked about guys who brag about having never been in jail.

Yeah, I don't get it either, but I'm assuming it stems from insecurities.

That completely made no damn sense at all...you just bringing up alternate 'bad' situations the guy could have been doing...the same results/consequences could happen in both scenarios

And comparing 'pickpocketing' (an illegal activity) to working a 'legit' (which, btw, maybe he's working on retirement and benefits at his age) job? WTF.

Probably not most. Most probably work there because they can't get other jobs. Sometimes, there is nothing for a position they are skilled at. Lots of people have certain skills. And they will usually try to work a job with those skills. But it's not always possible. Or maybe they are still in a sort of training for that skill, like college or trade school or whatever. Every situation is different. But I don't think it's most that *could* be doing something better. Some people even just work those jobs because they disabled is some way and can't work other jobs. I think most *can't* find things better. While some are working on it... maybe...

Me. I wouldn't look down on someone for their job, though. I also agree with pioneer. It; just a regular job. And they aren't doing anything illegal. And just trying to make a living. And it might even be for health insurance of whatever.

Wait.

Are you telling me that most young actors don't grow up to be successful, and that Hollywood tosses you to the curb as soon as you're not longer useful to them?

Wow.
