I can see why it would be to someone who prefers to stay in the present and find new experiences rather than dwell on old ones

edit: that being said no i don't really agree and i think he sounds like he's snobby or trying to be

I do find it a bit annoying when people (especially older people) only talk about the past. I especially notice this when my dad meets up with his friend and all they talk about is stories from back in the day. Stories I have heard thousands of times. But at the same time, many of those stories are real gems, so it's not all bad.
