Damn, such a good (and poignant !) film. When Clint Eastwood will be no more (I dread thinking about it), only s*** directors and their s*** flicks will remain....
The ending is WAY too sad though ;_;

@YOUHAVENOHOPE What did you think of the film ? Have you even seen it ?

Yes I have seen it
I do like it, thought not for reasons one would think

I think Clint Eastwood went a little "hammer on canvas" with the plot
I think the acting is a little hammy and stiff but you're working with a limited Hmong/Asian actor pool so
But I think the race-relation stuff is pretty spot on, especially how Clint Eastwood's character is at first hesitant to try their food but really finds some stuff he likes after he tries it

But the reason I actually like it is just because Clint Eastwood is hilarious

Yes the transition in his relationship with the Hmong neighbours is depicted very well.
And at the same time the gap between him and his son's family. Ugh, I could not STAND those self-interested pricks, their attitude really makes them despicable and greedy, despite being at first portrayed as "trying to help".

Then ending is too ;_; though :(
