I can see all of the top 9 having a chance to get in, to varying degrees. Isaac is the only one off that whole image that I'm personally interested in, though. Paper Mario could be cool depending on what kind of moveset he gets, I guess.

Huh, never actually realized Nintendo had a Doom title.

It was a big thing that Bethesda put Doom (2016) on the Switch, and kind of a bigger thing that Doom Eternal is launching on the Switch simultaneously. Also 1 and 2 were on the GBA apparently.

I don't think Doom guy is realizable for Smash. He's way too brutal and toning that down a bunch makes a bad representation of the character.
I don't want to see Mario shot pointblack with a shotgun, but also I don't want a Doom guy who can't shoot people point blank with a shotgun.

I assume there might be a legendary Pokemon, like Rayquaza in Brawl. The two main Sun/Moon legendaries are already assist trophies though so idk who

I've yet to see Nightmare from Kirby return as an assist trophy. If he doesn't I'd love him as a boss. Marx, Magolor and Dark Matter would also be great. In fact, if there is a big boss mode, I feel like one of those four has to show up

1) WayForward has been quiet about Shantae in Smash and won't comment publically, so people think tht means they signed an NDA. I'll admit it is unusual because they wouldnt shut the fuck up about it around Ballot time. The non-believers think the silence is more likely due to WayForward being embarrassed by their behavior around Ballot time.

2) There have been tons of Indie fighting game crossovers and Shantae is suspiciously absent from all of them, which leads people to believe there's an exclusivity deal with Nintendo for her appearances in party fighters. I'll admit it is weird cuz WayForward is ALWAYS shilling for Shantae and they randomly just stopped and aren't commenting on her appearances or lack thereof in crossover fighters.

I just think this is coincidence tho, some people are making mountains out of molehills

Completely ignoring her actual chances (which I think are close to 0%, if Shovel Knight couldn't get make the cut then she definitely isn't), why did people want her in the first place? It's not like her game is especially popular or she's very recognizable. Honestly all I can think of is that people want a genie chick in Smash.

you know I was KINDA joking about the tits thing but I went to tumblr to try to find a gif of her dancing and just searching "shantae" resulted in almost nothing but porn. I'm not joking, it was ALL porn. At least if you search "Chun Li" you at least get some real art
