We'd probably be fine with reassert MAD as the norm, and building gigaton salted hydrogen bombs as part of a Doomsday-device. Couldn't cost that much.

This is false, the B-1Bs were all converted (there were 66 in service in 2012), there are 20 B-2s and 41 B-52H (in 2015, 58 were still in active service and 18 were in reserve. Also in 2015 they started converting them, 30 were planned for conversion according to the Air Force).

Unless you're talking about Russian planes.

Even then it's a non-concern since the planes don't just fly around with nuclear weapons 24/7.

She is nowhere near Russia. The only place I Alaska you can see Russia is at the edge of the very last Alaskan island in the Aleution chain. Across the water you might glimpse the coast of the first Russian island. There are island going across the sea from Alaska to Russia. But I don't think anyone lives on either island and they are barren. You aren't seeing mainland Russia

Also Alaskans have not cared about Palin in years. She stopped having any power here as soon as she ran for vice president in 2008. And after the election tion Alaska was angry and embarrassed by her. She is not like most alaskans and she doesn't represent us

People who have never been to Alaska think she is a stereotypical Alaskan but she isn't.

Like for example people think it's a Arctic wasteland, year-round. It's not. Southern Alaska isn't even a wasteland even in the winter. It's no different than like maybe North Dakota in the winter

And in the summer it is very nice. Alaskan summers are great

Conventional warfare has proven to be a relic anyway. The reason no major conflicts have erupted since ww2 (ignoring proxy wars) is because any real conflict threatening a top player would end in nuclear devastation. I'm sure we fly planes in their airspace and have nuke subs in positions to strike any adversary in a relatively short period of time. Just bravado and media fodder.

Yep. It's pretty amazing how many people think she actually said that line. They have this view of het as a complete moron so I guess that's why they easily believed it

For the record if Palin was able to wave flags as Russians flew ovet her house it would mean Russia was invading cause Wasilla is DEEP inside US airspace

I mean even though she didn't literally say she can see it from her house, she did say you can see Russia from parts of Alaska and that somehow made her a qualified expert on foreign policy and relations with Russia.
