Second, idgaf. Look up the ridiculous history of all the ways Kentucky has lost to florida over the years. Literally had a game where video replay shows irrefutable evidence that time expired on the game with Kentucky leading during a dead ball, yet we lost lmao.

Kentucky has had plenty of years where we were fine or respectable or even good in football. We just somehow always find a way to lose against florida.

We hadn't ended the Tennessee streak yet at that point either, and lost to them in 4 OTs, where in one all we had to do was make a FG to win, and they blocked it

I'll never argue that we're a "football school", but nonetheless we have had some epic fails, even when we were legitimately good

Since I'm on a wikipedia kick now, just for a little more perspective on that

In football, they jusy have a conference championship game each year, between the team from the SEC east/west with the best conference records (not uncommon for two west teams (Alabama, Auburn, LSU) to be top 2 overall, but nonetheless it's 1 east, 1 west). But in basketball there's a full conference tournament each year with every single team. Kentucky has 31 SEC tournament championships. The second most is 6 by Alabama.

btw when I saw it live I was also surprised to see the ref call it no good. But then they showed the replay and it did seem totally plausible that at the point it crossed the bar it was directly over the upright, not inside it

Okay so... there is no game clock in overtime. Only a play clock. It would've only been a delay of game penalty.
