I found oil underground and fell in while fighting a zombie and drowned because i couldn't get out.

damn, this galacticraft stuff is more complicated than anticipated.

gonna put it on hold for a bit, and fortify and light up this village. lost 8 villagers already to zombies, and had to put down 3 more that got zombified when i was underground.

hopefully more spawn.

few new ores, new things to do with old ores, and you can build rockets, spacestations, and go to the moon and mars, and mine asteroids.

it seems to have worked pretty seamlessly.

i'm still in the early stages, haven't gotten to any of the fancy stuff yet, but from what i've seen it got integrated pretty well.

like can you build to it?

i don't think so. standard build ceiling is still in effect on my end at least. so i guess they're not seamless attached to each other, but each planet is like a separate overworld.

i do know that gravity has different effects on the moon.

you can fall farther without taking damage, and you can jump higher and farther.

you need to build oxygen tanks and gear so you can survive in the vacuum, and you can build areas that are properly oxygenated so you can walk around without the survival gear.

Looked it up, seems to be a connection between the two.

I've only done Tekkit-Lite, but I imagine Tekkit and GalacticCraft are very similiar in mods, without the space travel though

Tekkit wasn't a mod and probably isn't connected to Galacticraft. It was a modpack that pulled a bunch of different mods together (IndustrialCraft, Buildcraft, Equivalent Exchange, RedPower, etc). IIRC, it was somewhat controversial because the one releasing Tekkit didn't bother asking permission.

I believe it was mostly overtaken by FeedTheBeast which actually asked permission. FTB has several different modpacks and, thanks to the mod authors being involved, MUCH better compatibility between mods. In Tekkit, for instance, BuildCraft and Industrialcraft both had their own electrical power systems (MJ and EU respectively). So you could have a massive system for generating MJ, but couldn't use EU. FTB eventually just introduced Redstone Flux which is used (almost) universally.
