Nope, since they're dirt cheap to produce and TI makes a killing selling them for the price they do. Schools would have to move on and stop requiring them, and that doesn't look to be happening either.

I dont understand why TI still has some kind of monopoly on the calculator game. Somebody could easily undercut them by half the price and still be making money hand over fist on these things

the amazing thing is that they cost the same as they did 20 years ago. i can literally get an app on my smart phone that does everything a TI does and more for like $10.
