The first floor neighbors keep say they smell cigarette smoke in their place and even though we said it's not us the landlord is coming over to check herself.

Me and my roommate have never smoked cigarettes in our lives, much less in this apartment. Why would we even smoke inside?

They're truly wicked. It's a mom and two like teen daughters. I bet it's one of them.

And before the "muh privacy" people strike, I'm sure your lease includes some line about how maintenance or management can enter with notice whenever they want.

My neighbor smokes constantly in his apartment. He's been reported dozens of times. The landlord says "I need to see it with my own eyes" and does nothing else about it.

She acted like I was being immature and spiteful when I asked her if she wanted a video of him exhaling from his patio door.

People and their crybaby bullshit...

It's not even about that, it's about the annoyance of the complaints.

Yeah and complaints can pile up, too. Even when you're innocent. In the last building I lived in, my neighbor smoked pot all the time. They thought it was me since I was the young guy - and she put on a great denial act. Everyone reported me constantly. So, when I finally did something wrong, they evicted me because they thought they had enough complaints against me to justify it.
