say its like 2035, you're in your 40s, & you decide to bust out the gamecube and show your son your favorite game growing up, super smash bros melee.
as you are showing the kid the game he says "how do I download DLC characters and outfits? mom says I can use her credit card" you say no my child (this is how you talk b/c you're a fuckin weirdo), you have to UNLOCK these characters by playing these challenging levels. your kid looks disappointed. "ok, lets do some eSports ladder matches so I can howl the N word at my teammates just like my idol, Screamin' Obese Man Mike." you say sorry pal but this is an offline game. your son asks if Nintendo will ever patch this in and you say nope, no patches on the Gamecube. he chucks the controller at the wall and says "this game is lame, it is the complete opposite of Juul-ing. Fuck this and fuck you, I'm going to call CPS and get them to revoke your custody so I can live with Mom and Jerry. At least they have good games like Fortnite 3000, and Jerry lets me use his credit card to buy V-Tokens (redeemable for V-bucks), because he has no long term savings." what do you do? --- ... This has already kind of happened to me. Son loves sonic, but not the good sonic. He prefers force over mania. Nearly disowned him.

Kids always think what their parents like is old and lame. I don't think that's gonna suddenly stop being true for Gamecube specifically, a console that was dated the day it came out
