If i like game a lot, i can get really obsessed with it and playing just this game for months :/

Conversely, the game I've probably played the most without ever finishing even once is Skyrim.

Probably have close to 800 hours in that game, across multiple characters and on a few different platforms, and I've never completed the story missions.

If you count beating the final boss as "finishing" a game, Phantasy Star Online by a fucking mile, but given the nature of that game that probably doesn't count. For the same reason I assume we're also not counting any fighting games, or else a few of the Smash Bros. games would probably be up there as well.

I beat "Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy" a good ~100 times. Still occasionally do a run through these days and can usually beat it in under 10 minutes.

In terms of proper, "full-length" games, I don't know but the top contenders would be:
-Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (I fucking loved this game when I was a kid and would beat it multiple times a year).
-Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
-Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (my friend and I would clear this game whenever we felt bored)
-Sonic & Knuckles (this was my only Genesis game for a couple years and I loved it)

There are also a few others that probably aren't in contention, but I still beat them many times over
-Sonic Adventure
-Banjo Kazooie
-Super Mario 64
-Chrono Trigger (assuming we're counting NG+ runs to unlock different endings)
-Super Mario World
-Legend of the Mystical Ninja
-Star Fox 64

You made me remember that I played through mgs 2 probably like ten times on a deployment.

I got to the point at which I could get through the tanker and plant on extreme in under three and a half hours and only save once.

Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword over thirteen times. I could tell you how many exactly times I've cleared it, but the in-game counter stops at lucky number thirteen for some odd reason.

Baldur's Gate 2. I don't know how many times I've beat it, but I love that game.

Not counting fighting games (because that would be cheating), I've beat LttP 67-80 times over the years.

I've done the Pokemon FR/LG campaign maybe 10-15 times (usually stops short due to tech issues).

I guess Time Crisis 3 might rank up there, but it's also a shorter game. Trying to think of what other lightgun games I've beaten a lot although, tbh, I often run out of continues before finishing.

I've also cleared Gauntlet Legends quite a few times, but it's a shorter game. Ditto for Mega Man 3.
