Tried a pork knee roast, pork shoulder, what looked like a pork medallions/tenderloin, and bacon.
At first it didn't even taste that different from regular meat. Then it had something of an aftertaste, very faint but I didn't like it. Can't understand the obsession with this food. Maybe the restaurants weren't good, but I don't think I'll be dying to try out more pork products any time soon. Unless someone has recs for what is some good pork meat related stuff? --- ... Anyways, while I doubt you can find it on the continent, try to find a place that does decent kalua style pork. Pork is delicious, and one of the most versatile meats. I guess if you are trying it for the first time as an adult you might not like it.

I think pork is overrated as well.

Barbacoa is not pork at all. Its shredded beef.
