Kombucha 09/22/18 1:50:02 AM #9:	a few days ago i discovered mastodon, a completely open source (FOSS) decentralized form of social media with chronological feeds and no advertising so i've been shit posting on it for 2 days. the plan is to mess around with it for a week and see if i get bored. there are no adverts and no data is collected or sold, the dev lives exclusively off of FOSS enthusiasts on patreon iirc. it uses a protocol that can be loosely compared to email and isn't designed to control for higher engagement. https://mastodon.social/@komb other than that i have no other personal accounts. i removed my personal facebook around 2013. i quit twitter around the same time but still hold the name. facebook did a number of things that lead me to quit their service, twitter was not much of a different story. i mean they basically gutted access to their api and started clogging their official app with ads until it was unbearable. there's about a million reasons why i left either service. these days it's mostly a combination of texting, discord and whatsapp to keep in contact with friends. --- http://www.last.fm/user/walkingishonest <cite>Kombucha posted [p:909224078] in what socia...
