had a patient yesterday who was so unstable they couldnt be turned without their o2 saturation dropping to the point of needing an ambu-bag. I am very, VERY fortunate that they didnt code.

Today I had a patient who complained that the TVs in our unit werent big enough. Yall know I work in critical care where that stuff is generally out the window.

And strangely, I found the latter to be far more difficult to care for despite being markedly less ill.

(Its all about perspective, imo)

That's because, with the former, you don't have to deal with them complaining about stupid shit that doesn't matter.


Well, clearly.

But the reality is that objectively, the more critical patient WAS truly harder to care for.

That being said, its also important to have or develop people skills to where you dont let silly crap get to you.

Mine are far from fully developed.
