He took to instagram to unveil the 43 y/o in full COSTUME which looks more like a circus costume than what we're used to seeing the Joker. Joaquin is taking over the role which was last played by Jared Leto for Suicide Squad and then the late Heath Ledger before him.. It's a prequel to 2008's The Dark Knight that will see the Joker's reiteration as Martin Scorsese is the producer and Robert De Niro will also be in the movie as a "talk show host" It is loosely based on The Killing Joke, written by Alan Moore for DC Comics in 1988 In that version the Joker quits his job as a lab assistant and becomes a stand up comedian to support his pregnant wife. Unsuccessful, he agrees to help the mob with a robbery with a red hood as the heist goes awry. He leaps into a chemical vata to escape Batman and surfaced disfigured and along with the death of his family, goes on a maniacal rage and revenge. It releases next year on October 4th.
