Nope. Just the way things work. You cant skip animal testing and start testing on humans. That's way worse.

Biologically speaking mice, pigs, and monkeys are similar enough that the results are indicative of our would be response to whatever's being tested. If the thing works as expected but also....is fucks up the kidneys or whatever. That's something unexpected which would have huge consequences if you went straight to human trials. Lawsuit, loss of funding, project shutdown, human death

Its necessary in certain cases to ensure theres no unforseen detriment to your fellow man.

We still don't even have an accurate computer simulation of the human body because we still hardly understand it. How can you so easily suggest we may be "technically advanced enough to not rely on animal testing" when we know so little about ourselves? To skip straight to human trials without making sure if the scientists had actually created the strongest poison in the world by testing it on another creature first is madness.
