I don't normally make politics topics and I don't know how much here people care about state politics or net neutrality on top of that, but this is pretty big.

I'm kind of dying over here that the reasoning for killing net neutrality at the federal level was that the federal government doesn't have the right to mandate a single set of rules for all states, and now as soon as California makes a move against the massive telecoms funding all of these guys, we get claims that the federal government actually has the exclusive right to regulate internet rules.

Other states are already working on drafting similar bills using California's as a template, so we'll see how this goes.

(Pardon the tiny url. GameFAQs thought I was trying to bypass the censor to say "shit" when I posted the full link and wouldn't let me post, which is kind of funny because there's not even a censor to bypass anymore.)

As someone who thinks "net neutrality" is the dumbest thing my generation is scared of, I'm def on your side for this one. Republicans pretending they care about "states rights" is just lip service. Vote libertarian. I'm out.
