Where are the opinions? For starters, this movie is looking suspiciously good. Way better than it has any business being, given Sony's past efforts. And the concept is kind of ballsy, super-referential (in a good way), but potentially alienating as well. Y'all have opinions on fucking everything, CE. I know we've got opinions.

I share your optimism. I think we deserve that. You and I, specifically. The rest of CE deserves to wallow in Venom or Suicide Squad or BvE or ASM2 and all of the other movies that illustrate the high cost of their low expectations.

It actually is crazy how this is coming right off the heels of Venom. Is it just that Sony isn't taking animation seriously, so the people behind Spider-Verse are allowed to go crazy without any executive meddling?

Yeah, I don't even know what Venom is even doing here. Like no one wanted it. Also it feels like it's been in development shorter than Into the Spiderverse. I remember the first animated trailer previewing before SMH. When was the first Venom trailer?

At this point Venom just feels like a turd that's finally being passed after 10 years in development hell. Can't wait for it to bomb and then Sony rethinks the rest of their spinoffs, just like when ASM2 financially bombed, which was just like when Spider-Man 3 critically bombed.

To think they would have likely had a huge Venom focused Spider-man sequel and a Venom spin-off by now if they didn't try and force it into Spider-man 3.
