good, it was the video game of Spider-Man that's the high rated critically acclaimed? Out of all the spiderman media, the books movies tv shows cartoons and video games, it was the video game this time around that hit the jackpot.

Really, Spider-Man properties have an okay hit rate.
Spider-Man comics are kind of inconsistent. It feels like his best moments are pre-clone saga nineties Spider-Man, and Superior Spider-Man. I love the home life of pre-civil war 2000's Spider-Man, but think the villains there are total ass. Spider-Man movies similarly inconsistent. The first two movies are great with the second one basically being the most popular superhero movie ever until Avengers in 2012. The next two movies (SM3 and ASM1) are meh-to-disappointing, with the fifth movie (ASM2) being a complete garbage fire and nearly killed the movie franchise and kind of forced Sony to gamble on a partnership with Disney. Of course SMH is a huge runaway success, immediately compared to SM2. I've not seen Venom (and don't really want to) or Into the Spiderverse (I'm actually stoked to see this), but these movies look like they're going to continue the trend. And then there's the games, of which the first one was ground breaking, and for which the follow up games and movie tie-ins have been pretty average, and kind of lazy since they're clearly just Hollywood merchandising an associated film. One could argue this most recent Spider Man game is another example of that, except we've been watching the dev cycle of this game and the promotional build up following SMH leading to Into the Spiderverse for the better part of a year, and neither one of these projects looks like a mere cash-grabbing afterthought (unlike poor Venom). Hmm. To summarize, when it comes to Spider-Man, you really don't know what you're going to get from product to product. --- Ignorance is a choice https://imgtc.com/i/7UnK3hx.jpg ...
