It is well known that some users meet an unjust end for their time at gamefaqs. They routinely get stricken down by moderator biases and mass marking. Assumptions that they are just some low karma troll with nothing to say are rampant. This must stop. I demand that gamefaqs implements an ability to contest bannings. Imagine how much better this board would be if users like Strike Gently, ROD, and Franklin could come back.

GameFAQs has a huge issue with people melting down and breaking the ToS, then making an alt to whine about being banned "unjustly". Shit like "oh man you can't even say that a supreme court justice nominee should be heard out, no free speech here in the land of the liberals!", only it turned out that in the thread they reference, they made some posts telling people to get raped before they try and talk about how rape victims feel, or they like issued a fight challenge to a moderator and called them a pussy. Just poorly behaved trolls who'll willingly misconstrue a situation to create conflict.

If we create a system where people can contest bans, you get these same motherfuckers clogging the system, acting like entitled shits (because I suppose that's funny to people who huff their own farts) and making threads on alts about how the moderators are Nazis and how this system is a waste of time because they'll never reinstate anyone - because look at me, a person who said that 3-5 week pregnant women should be made to carry a baby to full term even if it's against their will, and who called the moderators eugenics-supporting monsters when said post was moderated, didn't get their account back!

People are already allowed to make alt after alt after alt with little or no punishment. That's more than most posters deserve in this website.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Let me clarify: the user gets suspended by having their posts mass marked, and the admin bans solely based off of the karma of the user. Im not saying that the admin is improperly banning users, Im just saying that these users shouldnt be put into position to be banned in the first place.

I'm not too sure what goes through Allens head, but I've seen numerous times I was sure an account would be banned, only for it to be put into Purgatory. For sure, a lower karma account constantly going against the ToU is more likely to be banned after numerous moderations, it becomes clear that the user is not willing to follow the ToU. Moderation history plays a bog part as well. It's very rare for an account to be banned on their first moderation unless they're deliberately trying.

Ive seen almost 300 accounts (not necessarily mine) be banned on first infractions. Allen has stated that he just highlights all low karma accounts and bans them with one click. There must be an appeal system.
