The fourteenth season of Supernatural, an American dark fantasy television series created by Eric Kripke, is set to premiere on October 11, 2018, on The CW. The season will consist of 20 episodes and will air on Thursdays at 8:00 pm (ET).

Armandro (rip) encouraged me to watch the first 5 seasons and I've been hooked ever since. I know it was a mistake to continue watching because the show kind of had a down swing for a few seasons, but I didn't stop watching. It's now had a bit of a pick up again and I think it's good again.

Wow 14?! I stopped watching after the leviathans nonsense.. So season 5 or 6 I think?
The first seasons were the best, with the mythical monster of the day hunt, rather than just one enemy for the whole season..

Ever since season 10 or 11, they went back to that good balance of monster of the week episodes and main story episodes.

The first 5 seasons were the best and then the show bottomed out with season 7. The last 3-4 seasons have nearly been up there with the first 5 imo.

Nice. Not going to get back into it though, but I can't imagine how ridiculous seasonal enemies are, if they're always stronger than the previous ones.. Are they up against Galactus yet?

What's the main plot about now?

Is it still weird Christian fanfiction?

Its funny you mention that because season 11 involves God and his sister. How can you go bigger than that?

They don't. They found a way to scale back the size of the main villian while still allowing them to be a major threat.

I take that back. One monster of the week episode had the greatest evil ever. Hitler. Yes Hitler was revived and Dean killed Hitler. It's was over the top and fun. Dean spent the next two episodes bragging to people about how he killed Hitler. Lol

One of the best episodes came out recently where they did a scooby doo crossover that was legitimately good. The show has kind of become pretty ridiculous sometimes. I enjoy the one-off monster of the week style episodes whenever they appear. The storyline is more than a bit convoluted (with regard to everything that has happened) at this point but it has enough twists to keep my attention.

I still think it's hilarious that they had a child that was basically god in one episode and he just vanished by his own will after being pursued by both Sam & Dean and hell. Like they totally ignored that lore for many seasons, where is this kid that was supposed to be god himself? Did I miss something? I don't think he was chuck, because chuck predated him by quite a bit.

There are plot holes I like to pick out sometimes and just laugh at, but yeah the Leviathan arch was not a high point for the show.

I watch it for the occasional great episode. The overarching plot has been more drama less crazy cool lore as the show has dragged on.

Plus many of the best concepts are very short lived.demon Dean for example

I'm very excited to see what happens with Bobby and Cass and Michael.

Is it the one that made dreams and ridiculous expressions come true? Like how someone scratched their brains out with their fingers and Dean that grew hair in his palms from masturbating? Yeah it's weird they just dropped him after that one episode without ever mentioning him again (at least in the seasons I watched)

Yeah lol. I kept expecting him to be a part of the plot at some point. Like he was supposed to be the most powerful thing they'd ever encountered but whatever. xD

Yeah.. It's weird how they didn't pursue him,. heck, how both sides of the fight didn't pursue him, the good AND the bad guys.
the Winchesters: "Ohhh super powerful kid who's in the middle, who could win him to their side?"
the Devil & his demon horde: "meh, I don't feel like going after them.. what about you two?"
the Winchesters: "nah, fuck it"

That was a super weird episode for sure.

I'm trying to think of other monster of the week type episodes I was not cool with and they're far and few between. I've actually enjoyed the vast majority of them so far but this one sticks out for some reason, not trying to be overly negative because obviously the show was still hitting stride but I kind of have to poke fun at this...

Season 1, Episode 8 Bugs

They basically have to fight off insects until morning in a house in Oklahoma. The night scene lasts for maybe 5 minutes after the entire episode builds up to it. The entire 5 minutes feels super unrealistic and rushed and is somehow supposed to come off as an entire night. One of my least favorite episodes, iirc one of the writers or maybe it was the director said it was one of the weakest episodes ever.
