What is considered young and old is subjective, but I made this topic because I fear being old and helpless.

I'd probably prefer to just die young, ain't nothing too special about sticking around for several decades anyways only for the younger generations to discard you.

Aside from that, life itself is pretty meh.. literally a chase for money (which I don't have).

I feel like I've seen enough of what this world has to offer just 26 years in.

I don't know. It's pretty much just that I enjoy being alive and the thought of eventually not being alive anymore ever again paralyzes me with fear. I kind of envy people who are able to believe in religion and afterlife or reincarnation :(

Well, that's the caveat. Elderly people's lives can be very depressing, even if they have made a family and have successful children/grandchildren. Not all, but quite a few, spend years in assisted living or nursing home facilities. All of their friends are dead. Their spouse is dead. Their children only come around every so often or call (if they're lucky). Their age or condition continues to deteriorate, they're prescribed all sorts of drugs and eventually lose their free will, but are kept alive by modern medicine and medical intervention. This is the last 5-10 years of some people's lives.. and it doesn't sound that great.

When I was like 16 I didn't want to live to see 30. Now that I'm 25, I really don't want to die at 30.
