A lot of people say that NNK1 is the better game so I was pretty excited to play it after I played NNK2. There's some neat concepts and the story isn't bad, but the gameplay just isn't that good. The combat was amazing in 2, but in 1 it's just this weird mashup of real time and turn based.

The characters are better in 2 and I liked the overall story in 2 better. I did like the animated cutscenes in 1 though and I think there's more VA in 1 as well.

I don't like that they took out the pokemon. That was a big draw to NNK1 for me

I havent gotten to 2 yet, but I've just heard too many bad things. Gonna wait til it's a Plus freebie, I do want to try it though

I hope in NNK3 they keep Kingdom Building and Familiars as well as a new big concept. Keep combat the same as 2 though and have the familiars take over the Higgledy support.

It's really good. I'm not sure why anyone who enjoyed NNK1 would hate it, but I'd say give it a try. It's pretty cheap right now. I got it for $30 at BB last month.

I don't know where I'm at story wise, but I just got the dragon and teleport spell in 1. I've had a fun time but seriously the combat is just not that fun.
