I just got the double jump and made my way back to the entrance to check out Hammer's shop. So far I'm digging this game. It's not as good as Symphony but I'm still enjoying myself.

Anything I should know? >_> I've been using the Little Devil and Flying Armor souls a lot.

None of them top SotN, but I loved all the GBA and DS Castlevania games.

some enemies are really fucking stingy with their souls

There's a true ending? What are the conditions of unlocking it?

You need three specific souls that reflect Dracula's powers and defeat the final boss with them equipped.

Giant Bat soul for Dracula's transforming power (obviously)
Succubus soul for Dracula's life draining
Flame Demon soul for Dracula's Hellfire spell

I'm not sure if you actually need to do this. The soul you're talking about leads you to a room with a book that tells about one of the souls you need to equip, but I'm not positive if you actually need them or if you can skip them if you already know.

if you're going for 100% completion

but I don't think you need it for the true ending

and the rare soul is the Tsuchinoko, iirc.

it's been a long time since I've played it, though, so I could be wrong

I even forgot what it do.

edit: the spirit was sky fish, not tsuchinoko.

Increases their potency, up to a limit.

If you look at a soul, some of them will say like 1/9 if you have one of them. So if you get eight more, you'll have maxed out that soul's effectiveness.

I'm just obsessive-compulsive when it comes to items. I have to be maxed out on everything, even if it's totally unnecessary or overkill

The whole "more of a soul = stronger skills" thing was only in Dawn of Sorrow, not in Aria of Sorrow. Only Headhuntress's soul effect got stronger the more total souls you have absorbed. In Aria, you just need one of the soul and it's already as effective as it'll ever be.

Make sure you get the Killer Mantle soul you can farm Red Minotaurs with it

Tsuchinoko Soul reduces the cost of items purchased at the shop by 20%, iirc.

Recently played it too, I enjoyed it. Funny enough I got a soul drop from the first boss and only later found it's quite rare to have that happen on a first attempt.

* 99 Luck = <1% increase.

Theres a patch/hack for DoS to make each Luck = 0.1%

I beat Death and now I'm going through all these underwater caves now. This is really fucking tough >_> I also spent literally all my money on the Ascelon sword from Hammer. That was definitely worth it.

Mina better put out for all this shit.
