I have them but I've never played for more than an hour.
I don't particularly want to start an rpg right but I'm sure 1 and 2 are solid. --- People are afraid of what they don't understand. ... Copied to Clipboard!

they are good for GBA standards (production value, graphics, etc), but when you compare them to pretty much any console jrpg they are very generic and unremarkable

I think I beat the first one, but I honestly can't remember the full thing. It was "eh." I have no fond memories of it or the characters. It wasn't bad, but it certainly is nowhere near iconic.

1 is great. 2 suffers from a really slow first half, but the second half is also great. Haven't played DD yet but I'm not expecting much.
They need to do an HD remaster of the first two games and make it the one big game it was meant to be. --- Aeris dies if she takes more damage than her current HP - Panthera https://signavatar.com/26999_s.png ... Copied to Clipboard!

Some of the greatest handheld RPGs to come out prior to the DS generation. Then the sequel happened and just... They screwed us over by taking away so many of the components that made it easy to get into (no arena for post game fun), added PONRs and changed the unleash system which made it impractical in the last quarter of the game with how many new weapons you ended up getting. "All these new swords and axes but I'll get the sol blade soon so no point equipping or mastering them since there's no tangible benefit, at least I already have this 116 attack sword fully mastered" or something to that effect. Plus you had to abuse resetting with the forge to get viable armor and one or two weapons if you wanted to try and beat dullahan legit because unleashes weren't as consistent even when fully mastered compared with crit builds in TLA.

been a long time since i played them but i remember feeling like the djinn thing wasnt that much more than a gimmick. at its core the battle system and skill system is pretty status quo the battle / class system is actually one of the only really cool things about it imo. using special moves (djinn) to change class mid battle is a really interesting concept and just messing around with various combinations of them to try and see what weird classes you get is fun --- THIS IS WHAT I HATE A BOUT EVREY WEBSITE!!
