My curiosity about the incident is at peak height. Google, a company that prides itself on cloud infrastructure and always having a solution for downtime, fucks up one of their most trafficked platforms. Mind-boggling.

Honestly, I don't really care.
It's a system, systems fuck up, it happens, no biggie. The larger the company does mean they're less likely to fuck up, but it's not impossible. This looks like the sort of situation where a system engineered around [thing] has been fucked nearly to death to do [other thing], and someone mandating that it now do [yet another thing] just toppled the whole mess - probably due to some code dependency from years ago that never expected [some other thing] to be a requirement, and was barely duct-taped into doing [other thing].
However, I suspect the real answer is Google implementing some convoluted system to fuck over adblockers, which just ended up fucking over everyone via overly-aggressive detection or something. ... Copied to Clipboard!
