the first is one of the best reviewed games of all time and we didn't care about that either

i internationally did not mention scores and instead mentioned what people were actually saying, aka strong single player

also the gameplay is good ol' SoulCalibur and reversal edge is reportedly pretty cool once you wrap your head around it

I like Ezio because he's one of the only guest fighters we've had that feels like a Soul Calibur character. He fits right in with the rest of the cast for the most part. It was a nice followup after they brought in Darth Vader and Yoda in the previous game (which were fun to play, don't get me wrong, but felt COMPLETELY out of place)

from the looks of it, Geralt seems to fit in about as well as Ezio, which is nice

the game DOES have alot of content and stuff to it, but the thing is, you start realizing they stretched themselves thin and none of it is "good"

Soul Calibur 2 kicked ass, but Link took it over to mind boggling hype territories

It even got Super casual people to play and enjoy that game, SC2 was just something else back in the day

Having not played since 3 (despite owning 4 and 5) how offended am I going to be by the roster? I used to play SC2 a ton. Was one of the only fighting games I could play at tournament level

It's the same roster as 2, minus Cassandra, Yun-seong, Charade, the guests and the generics, and plus Zasalamel, Tira, Geralt and Groh.

My copy is apparently being shipped from France so I'm not holding out hope of an early delivery tomorrow, but super excited for Friday! Got a feel for Kilik, Groh and Tira during the network test but excited to finally play Raphael and Mina.

My guess is that they were prioritising a roster with distinct movesets for the base game, which explains the lack of derivative characters like Cassandra, Rock and Amy (although why there's no Hwang/Yun-seong is anyone's guess). I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Cassie in the first wave of DLC.

Tira is such a weird exclusion. She's probably one of the quickest rises in popularity any of the non-original characters has had. SUPER weird that she was confirmed as DLC like a month before the game came out, like wtf

hoping to see Rock as DLC, he was always one of my favorites

2B would be amazing

also I can't help but hope we get a weird surprise like an Overwatch character as DLC. Reinhardt would definitely fill the role left by Rock's exclusion.

I never could get into Soul Calibur, but hopefully this game gets big and gets a good scene. It would be some nice added variety in the fighting game scene.
