If you get killed, then you wake up instantly. When you go back to sleep, youre right back in silent hill. There are no tricks to getting out of it.

So there's no risk of actual death?

Ok, I'll take the money

True, but you would still have vivid dreams about getting killed by some sort of monster.

This is something I'd really, really have to think over; on one hand, it's $1,000,000,000... and my conscious life is unaffected... and the vast majority of my dreams - even since early childhood - have been borderline nightmare at best... so I'm reasonably resilient.

On the other hand, having this be an irreversible constant - even if you're drunk - could have an irreversible effect on one's mental health. Having regular nightmares over a long period of time is one thing... having thematically-similar nightmares every single time you fall asleep is another.

All-in-all... this is probably a pass, for me.

It also implies you'd be lucid dreaming, so you'd be spending a full eight hours in Silent Hill every time you go to sleep.

It ain't so bad, nightmares already do that in a lot of ways.

Although I often forget how rare it is for people to have nightmares and vivid ones at that. Dreams/nightmares are a weird subject.

I had a horrible nightmare last night. I thought that I woke up to a huge centipede crawling on my arm. And I mean HUGE. Like 2 inches wide and 2 feet long. And I tried to get it off me nice and easy, but then it wrapped tight and I was like fuck it and I tried to just tear it off, but it bit into my arm really hard so I ran into the bathroom and put it under running water while I tried to rip it off :<

There probably was a centipede crawling on your arm that triggered the dream.

True, but they're usually much shorter and to the point.

Silent Hill would drag that shit out.

It is. You could hide or fight or intentionally get killed, but if you did that then you would wake up and have to start over for the night.

There would probably be some time limit, like maybe five hours per night.

This. Because there's not much point in having a billion dollars if your life is in tatters after a year of severe sleep deprivation.
