It's sickening watching anti-cop advocates use the exact same generalizations and fallacies against cops that racist and bigots used against Blacks and Gays decades ago so brazenly as well. It's plenty reasonable to criticize individual actions, but anti-cop advocates have a tendency to extrapolate one incident as true for all incidents--For instance, this one shooting was unjustified, therefore all or most of the 1074 people killed by police this year are unjustified. It simply does not follow, and it's a real abuse of logic when they internalize their beliefs from this format.

Furthermore, they tend to hold all police responsible for the actions of the individual. I rarely see any conception of the rate of unacceptable incidents, or definitions of what are or are not acceptable rates, or any concept of cost-benefit analysis in their arguments. Mostly, I see arguments stem from simplistic arguments of individual events used in a manner to maximize their emotional impact and distract from the lack of rational substance.

The end result is a hatred of people that are as diverse, for instance, as the gay community. Why do you want people to hate police so much? Why does your hate drive you? Have you ever honestly sought out information that might disprove your preconceptions false? Do you seek the truth in this matter, or do you seek to fuel your dogmatic beliefs and relish in the self-sustain fuel of hatred and self-righteousness?

If not, youre probably (like 99% of the time probably) gonna make it out alive.

They aren't there to protect you, they are there to enforce whatever laws your corporate owned government want enforced. If the cops were there to protect you they would have been on the side of the people protesting the Vietnam war. They would have been on the side of the marchers during the civil rights movement, they would have been with the occupy movement, they would have been with DAPL protestors. Instead they were attacking people who didn't want to die in a war a half a world away that we never should have been fighting, they were physically assaulting blacks who wanted nothing more than equal rights, they were harassing people who were fighting against corporate hegemony, and spraying down with fire hoses in sub zero temperatures an indigenous people who wanted to protect their water supply.
