Where does one start? Is it worth it? The movies, I only ever watched the Picard ones, and I enjoyed them. However, as a hyuuge SW fan, when I watched the first of the new Trek movies, I found them 100x times better than SW. Trust me exploration isn't that big of a deal. DS9 is different than the others because the other shows resets the story after each episode. DS9 is a continuation of story lines, characters, etc. For example the show Cops show something different each episode. Obviously DS9 is gonna need to have something new to show as well as one episode stories but what makes DS9 special and the absolute best show in the series is the character development and development of the story overall. I am not exaggerating but seasons 4, 5, 6 and 7 are truly on the same level or even better than the best seasons of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Wire, Mad Men, and King of Thrones. I'm currently on Season 2 of Enterprise and enjoy it so far. I got halfway into Season 1 of DS9 before getting bored of it, but plan to give it another go in the future. All TNG movies are good, imo. DS9 is the best show in the series. People associate Breaking Bad season 5, The Wire season 1 and 4, etc. as the best seasons in TV show history. If DS9 were aired within the past 5 years people would say DS9 seasons 3-7 are some of the best TV in history. k, good for those people Just stick with DS9, watch every episode even the supposedly bad ones (there is only 2 terrible ass episodes in DS9) and you will thank me and millions of other DS9 fans. The problem I had with DS9 is the focus on the station itself. There was no "exploration" in that first season I watched and it bored me. Kira's personality annoyed the shit out of me too. Trust me exploration isn't that big of a deal. DS9 is different than the others because the other shows resets the story after each episode. DS9 is a continuation of story lines, characters, etc. For example the show Cops show something different each episode. Obviously DS9 is gonna need to have something new to show as well as one episode stories but what makes DS9 special and the absolute best show in the series is the character development and development of the story overall. It is the funniest but at the same time most bad ass characters and story. Exploration is the reason I love the Star Trek series in the first place. I disagree with your viewpoint of the other shows "resetting" after every episode. That's the whole point of exporation, every episode is bound to be different and I'm completely ok with it. It's not like the story was null and void, it just continued at a different pace.
