You're arguing about something serious and it's getting super heated. You're both just getting more and more angry but somehow the argument only continues, then you drop a verbal nuclear bomb saying something heavy that completely tips your girl over the edge.

In a moment of flash fury she screams, lunges forward and hits you across the chops with a backhand so firece that it feels like an iron pipe being swung by Ryo Hazuki.

You go down to the floor with your hand on your face as blood, spittle and broken teeth fill your mouth. She quickly softens, shocked at herself, falls on her knees next to you, grabbing your arm with tears in her eyes going "Oh my god! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, are you okay? I'm sorry, I didn't mean that. I didn't... Sorry" and so on.



Every day a thousand people are in this situation. And they all respond differently. But what if it was you?

How do you react? What do you do?

I give them one chance to make it right and make sure it doesn't happen again. One and only one. If it happens a second time, that's when I see that it would be a recurring problem and leave them. Part of being in a relationship is forgiving mistakes, but if they don't learn from those mistakes, then it's not worth being in that relationship.

If it were a regular slap I would simply turn around, leave and never talk to her again. Once they hit you it means the respect is gone. Plus you cant hit back so its fucked up.

The only real option is to leave and not put yourself in that situation.

You cant hit her back because that makes you the abuser no matter what she did before that.

Its difficult to to get help because no one takes a male serious as a domestic violence victim.

You cant just let it go on, eventually someone will call the cops, and then you are automatically seen as the aggressor. If she lies, you are really screwed.

The first time it happens just get out of there.

Assuming a realistic situation where she isn't the hulk, probably wouldn't call the police unless she did some real damage. It would definitely be the end of the relationship unless the " verbal nuclear bomb" was something so cruel that I think I deserved it.
