I'm still doing the same games as on Youtube. Four streams a week. In the mornings. Not a bad rush of activity though. 5-10 followers in a week since moving.

I also host/raid quite a few other RPG streamers, so my niche didn't change.

Sorry, I saw you doing Rondo and I dropped everything to one-up you. I guess my episode on the merits of Dugtrio, the manliest of all the Pokemon, will have to wait another day.

Honestly Rondo has so many damn good levels, just focusing on the one was pretty hard to narrow. I WOULD like to agree that classic > metroid... buuut the only one that's really true with for me are Rondo and MAYBE Bloodlines? Like I love myself some CV1 and Super IV's a great intro game, but Ecclesia, Symphony, and Aria are just so damn good. Totally different feel, mind you, but SO DAMN GOOD.

Fair, I think if I had played the Metroidvania styled games earlier than I did I would probably have a fonder memory of them. But jumping into one now with a busy lifestyle is hard to get immersed. I like much more bite sized experiences nowadays.

Not saying they are at all bad. Just not what I'm into currently. I did however get my hands on Ecclesia for $5 last weekend so I'll probably give that a try.

Yeah I eventually pried the whole thing off and reattached it in Kickstand mode.

I feel the format's definitely a selling point, but I also feel that some element of either competition or proper balance between the two games is important. You can't just, for instance, have FFVIII and Xenosaga going on at the same time. Sure, FFVIII is gonna give you tons of down time where you're just playing Triple Triad and Xenosaga's gonna give you mostly plot, but if FFVIII starts its plot up it becomes an issue. SMRPG & Chrono Trigger really do strike a great balance together - comparable, same length, and Mario's always light enough so that Chrono Trigger can take the burden of plot and Mario can take the burden of gameplay during grinding/uninteresting dungeons.

I think you're right, if two RPGs are paired one needs to be Plot heavy and the other somewhat goofy/action centered. This reason alone I think is why Retro would work better, cause there's no way this would work with any game that has full voice acting, that's for sure.

I do prefer the 2 at a time for many reasons. More to talk about, more engaging to watch, and we just get to play more games in general. That, and any HD game is in Widescreen and makes it look real bad side by side, as seen in Halo. Mostly UI to compensate.

What would be a good Dragon Quest to jump into? Never played any. Or Breath of Fire either...

Best Dragon Quests for my money are V and VIII. You can't go wrong with BoF 2-4.

I would say DQV is best because the lack of voice acting. It's jist a matter of that being on the DS/3DS. But you guys got PW to work, so...

Notable moments: The finale, of course. Shadow the Hedgehog in it's entirety, Lando in full Drag in Mario Party 7, and Ben's big announcement at the end of Advance Wars.
